Don Garret & Jim Lagowski - TR-1 Construction


Don Garrett and Jim Lagowski are working together to build a KIS TR-1 2-place.  The kit was initially constructed in Garrett's Elk Rapids garage.  It will be powered by a Lycoming 125 horsepower 4-cylinder engine.  The current plans call for completion sometime during 1999.

Seems the local newspaper did a rather nice job of covering the progress of these builders as can be seen by the photos above and below.  

Nice looking shop with lots of room and good light.  It's far too clean though but maybe that was for the camera crew's benefit.  ;-)  I do understand that there is one very major problem with the arrangement which some might find a hinderance but not NOT Don and Jim.  See if you can figure it out from the following......(Hint:  I don't think they drink a lot of beer while they work.)
